Every girl can be picky about her hair which is why I wanted to take a moment to recognize SF Color Collective for giving me a stress-free, positive hair experience, from listening to my preferences to delivering exactly what I wanted, all while making it enjoyable.
SF Color Collective is a full service salon located in the Marina among several cafes, coffee shops, and local favorites like Palm House and Belga. They’re also conveniently near a nail salon if you want to go all out with a mani-pedi afterwards, which I may or may not have indulged in… The salon rocks a minimalist, chic vibe inside and the stylists are all friendly, with incredible hair I might add! Not to mention, they partner with Green Circle Salons to recycle all of their salon waste, including turning hair clippings into matts for oil spills (now that’s creative).
I wanted to spruce up my hair but nothing too dramatic. I decided on a shimmer balayage, which frames lighter hue pieces as opposed to an entire balayage and took less than an hour. Color expert and Co-Owner Priscilla Kangas (@PrissG) and Jessica Sclamberg made my vwala moment everything I hoped it would be. Not surprising, seeing as they both have years of color experience under their belts and have worked with industry-leaders such as L’Oreal Professional and Mercer Street Salon. My hair was natural with subtle touches of carmel and the tone was just right for my skin color.
As for the haircut, I went with a straight lob for a cleaner, healthier look and Sara Davis (@HairbySara_SF) executed exactly what I wanted and was also super sweet and conversational. I felt like a queen both during and after my time at SF Color Collective, which is how every salon should treat their customers. I will definitely be returning soon for a touch up!
